terminal mirage

david maisel photographs from his series the mining project. “i am interested in the cartographic powers of photography, and in making an art of the actual, that renders the uncompromising realities of a flawed, complex world,” maisel writes.

the images are spectacular: raw textures, saturated colors, mysterious forms.  maisel’s photographs invite the viewer to indulge in an understanding of human development from a very different vantage point.
